I can't explain it, what happened.
It was like a flash of lightning.
In fact it did rain, it rained hard.
but it wasn't just a flash of lightning that just happened,
it was forever.
Permanent. Like a tattoo, not even.
The walls came crumbling down,
we came down with it.
How could it be "the future seemed so bright",
but it was so bright, it blinded us all.
And then words were uttered
and it was all over,
but I stand here,
with the rain still pouring,
washing down my soul.
