October Foliage

The very first snowfall in Toronto usually happens on my birthday, it wouldn't be heavy but light fluffy snow drifting through the air, and eventually landing on a bed of crisp autumn foliage. My heart is warm just thinking about the mesmerizing sight, can you believe it's already October?

This year I will not be spending my birthday in Toronto but you can say Toronto is coming to me. This past week for example, Vitak flew over the pond to visit London and Paris and she brought me early birthday gifts from herself and Samantha!!

Last weekend, we met up and very leisurely meandered our way through London, walking through Borough Market, St Paul's, Smithfield Market, King's Cross, Sherlock Holmes Museum (it's 221, NOT 21 Baker Street), Oxford Circus, and Piccadilly Circus!
This weekend we booked a night at the wonderful Hilton London Bankside, say it with me - Hilton work perks is fabulous, where we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at their restaurant (OXBO)! We ordered things like seared scallops (w broccoli puree, tempura prawn, champagne cream), Dorset snails (w Oxspring prosciutto on grilled sourdough, not in pic), Aberdeen Angus (w braised beef hash, Lyonnaise onion, mistral sauce), and Duck breast (w artichoke purée and mandarin jus, sweet potato crisps).
Thank you so much Vitak for a. delivering the gifts, b. being alright with my super lazy tour guide planning (or lack thereof), c. sharing amazing long-overdue stories (and listening to mine obviously), and d. for having great shopping taste! We realised that perhaps we shouldn't shop together if we don't have enough money because we are such enablers, nor should we try to be healthy together because we are just so fixated on food!

I am also counting down to the days when my family will fly across the pond, we have quite a few things planned so stay tuned as I will have a ton of content to blog about!

So of course, being the these days slow blogger that I am, that was all written last weekend! Ending this post with some of the birthday cards I've gotten this birthday season so far! Thank you so much for a good start to the birthday month - you know who you are!
